Vala's Pumpkin Patch

We are so lucky here in Omaha to have one of the coolest pumpkin patches I've ever been to!  Vala's has everything and kids and adults love it there! I was waiting for Brian to come home to go but since the jet is still broken I ventured out there with both kiddos because I didn't want to miss it this year!  Here are some pictures from our day at Vala's Pumpkin Patch:

Feeding the bunnies

Layla sitting in the corn area..not sure!

Brady loved it

Mommy and Layla

Brady's second favorite thing of the day...giant bounce pillows!

He had so much fun

Layla enjoyed watching

And now for Brady's favorite thing of the day...train ride!

Layla, again, wasn't too sure

Then the conductor picked him to see how the train worked and to take a picture with him. Made his day! He is still talking about it! :)

Checking out all of the pumpkins...

And that teeny tiny one is the one he picked out!

Now no trip to Vala's would be complete without a picture by the sign.

Here is Brady's from 2010

2011

And 2012! He's gotten so big! I didn't have anyone to take a picture while I held Layla up so I'll have to get her next year! :(

It's That Time of the Year Again...

Well folks, it's that time of the year again. Time for everyone to pretend to be something they're not, beg for free candy, and pretend that it's normal.  Mommy got a jump start on Halloween this year and we've been to 3 trick-or-treat events so far.  And Halloween is still 3 days away. Pretty sure she just wants lots of candy. This year I am a farmer.  Couldn't tell you what a farmer is but I'm guessing they're just people that look good?

Layla was a Little Red Riding Hood.  Couldn't tell you what that is either.  She told me she was going instead as gangsta red from the hood

She told me to say tee hee hee (sisters are dumb).

Now let me tell you a little story about my times as a farmer. Crops were bad, the women were ugly, and the candy was sweet as sin.

Whoo eee it's tough work being a farmer.

Mommy made us take a picture together

"Ok Layla, now let me tell you the reasons why you shouldn't be wearing that costume. 1. Red is not your color.  2. Tights don't look good on girls with chubby legs. 3. You are showing wayy to much cleavage.  Must I go on?"

Needless to say she was not happy with me.

Then the real fun started...trick or treating! Our first event was the local high school's Halloween night.

Oohh cool what are you? A high school girl/elephant lady?  That's cool, I'm into that. Ooohh candy!

All that candy and all that hard work deserved a beverage.

You think I'm going to share my beverage with you? You cried and I got in trouble. Heck no!

Grin and bear it.

Check out my loot! Not too shabby, not too shabby.

The next day we had another event: YMCA trick or treating. Layla dressed as a brown-noser.

Ooohh what's wrong? Can't handle the truth?

Oooh boy here we go again.

Can we just take a moment mom? Just give us some room please. Sheesh.

By the way I am a pilot.

Yo uh can anyone tell me where a strapping young pilot could get some candy yo?

What? Pilots color!

And then we stumbled upon this fancy dance class.

I've seen my daddy dance. Pretty sure pilots dance.

Get it, get it

And then you clap your hands

Just working on some pilot tumbling. Practice for my time in the jet, duh.

Grandma took me trick or treating for the next event: Shadowlake Halloween Hoopla.  Grandma kept saying, "Oh this is going to be fun, so so fun!"

They had me roll around in manure for this costume.

Uhhh Gramma we need to get out of here!!!

TO BE CONTINUED....

Grandma and Grandpa Visit!
