He's Baaack!

Yep that's right, Brady's back on the blog!! Mom was embarassed by my other blogs, so no computer for Brady. Blah! Ha, I showed her though. I blew my diaper out when I wasn't wearing any pants so mom is currently cleaning the carpet while I am currently blogging! Let me catch you up to speed on my current 11 month old life.

So I'm sure you're thinking ok Brady, looking good but why put this picture on the blog? Well, this is my post-ER (yes people, emergency room!) picture. I started feeling like crap last Wednesday, screamed my head off and my mom took me to the ER. We sat in a room for 2.5 hours and I came out with a nice ear infection. I still look great even after my lengthy hospital stay.

See that band around my foot? Yeah, that's the proof I was an intensive care patient at the Bellevue Med Center.

We were supposed to leave for Minnesota that night, but since I had other plans, we hung out for a few more days in Omaha until I was feeling better.

Yeah I've kind of put a ban on wearing pants lately. I think it's a good look.

Oh great, there goes Rascal again ruining my shots.

Grandma was super glad to see me, like usual. She read me my favorite book 20 times over. I pooped 20 times over while in her care. Welcome, gramma!

That night, we went over to Nana and Papa's for dinner. They kept trying to feed me vegetables.

Really, Papa? You think my body looks this good from green beans? I expected more from you.

Then they made me play for them on my piano. Honestly, they work me to the bone. I can never just go over there and hang out. It's either be super cute, make our beer, or entertain us. Seriously.

However, I am probably the best looking piano player in all of Minnesota. So I kind of understand.

I may or may not be missing some teeth. I did most of my developing in my mom's tummy in Mississippi so what do you expect? A fetus can only have so much sweet tea.

Umm yeah that's right I can walk! That and my camo gear, I'm pretty sure I'm ready for the desert. I just have to work on growing my mustache out.

Then we went to Panera so my girlfriends and godmother could see me. I was having so much fun, I couldn't sit still.

Then Sharday said "Sit still Brady!" And I was like "Look, lady I don't know who you think you're talking to, but if you want to continue our relationship on any level you don't tell me what to do and you know what? It's hard trying to juggle so many girlfriends at one time! I need to keep up my energy!" She was shocked. Luckily Laura didn't hear our fight.

All was forgiven though when I suggested we just all get along and take a picture together.

Hey Mom, um can you give me a second alone with Alex please? Sheesh! I can never get any privacy!

We went to Grandma's work and all the ladies drooled over me. I had to check Pat's work badge to make sure it still said she was a member of the Brady fan club. Obviously it did.

Oh man, get a take on this loser. He lives in a box at the Mall of America. Seriously? And why the hell do people care?

Then we went to dinner with all of my grandparents. I asked Papa what I should order and he said lemons. Odd answer, I thought but hey I'm an adventurous guy.

About to take the first bite....

Oh. Umm this isn't what I was expecting...
So sour....but so good...I can't stop.

Ok Nana, I'm going to need you to move a little to the right here. And I will need a sample of your hair.

Then Grandpa started telling one of his stories about when he was young they never had styrofoam food for babies....blah blah blah. The're called puffs Grandpa, and they are delicious. Nana and Papa were trying to be polite, but I knew where this was going.

So I just pooped my pants and that got a good laugh out of everyone!
And that was my trip!
Oh wait.....

Dada, this is for you. I can climb stairs! Let's do this when you get home, ok?

Using my new walker and looking good.

Our Trip to Minnesota

Well, Brady and I are back in Nebraska after a wonderful trip to Minnesota. Brady got to spend a lot of time with his grandparents and even though the weather was not good, had a good time! Brady learned so many new things while we were there! He learned to climb up and down stairs, wave and then do it while saying hi or bye (thanks to Grandpa), say thank you, say Nana, say Papa (but not to his face), stand on his own, play sooo big, say Grandpa, blow kisses, try and repeat most words you say to him, and take a step towards Grandma! Whew that was a lot! Here are some pictures from our trip to Minnesota:

Reading with Papa

Eating nummy carrots and yogurt with Grandma!

Brady hanging out before bed with Grandpa

Being silly with Papa

He loves his Nana and Papa!

Silly boy taking a picture with mama

He always has to have his tongue sticking out!

My little boy waving

Out to eat with Nana and Papa

Hugs for Nana

Brady with all of his grandparents. He is such a blessed boy to have grandparents that love and adore him so much and spoil him like crazy! :)

And this is what we came home to. :(

Silly boy, you're not supposed to walk with that!

Silly boy talking to Grandpa and then blowing his daddy a kiss!

Hello From Southwest Asia

Hello, this is Brian. It's my first entry on the Ross Family blog, and it's being posted all the way from the Middle East. If you didn't know, I am currently deployed for 3 months out in the "deid" flying in support of OEF. I've been out here almost a week already and it's not fun being away from Rachel, Brady, and even Rascal. I do miss them and everyone else back home tremendously, but I've been trying to make the best of it.

We fly every few days, usually 12-14 hours at a time, so that keeps me somewhat busy. When I'm not flying, I either work out at one of the 3 gyms, eat at one of the 3 free all you can eat dining facilities, study, or try to come up with other ways of entertaining myself. For being in the middle of a desert wasteland, it's actually not too bad. We do have a Pizza Hut, Subway, Burger King, Starbucks, Baskin Robbins, TCBY, and Dairy Queen all within walking distance. There's also a "Fox Sports Box" where you can pick up your 3 beers for the day and catch a replay of one of the games you missed while you were sleeping. It could be worse.

I took a few pictures of the area around where we stay to show what it looks like out here, although they don't quite capture the desert wasteland theme that seems to prevail:

Here's a view of some of the desert:

From outside our trailer. Notice the Pizza Hut and Subway:

The building on the left is called a Cadillac which means bathroom in Air Force. The big white tent is where different events are held such as concerts and get togethers. It's called the Bra... for obvious reasons:

Here's what our trailers look like from the outside. Mine's the one on the right:

Here's what the inside of the trailer looks like. Much like a dorm:

The door to our room. I do have a roommate and that drawing was on the board when we showed up:

The inside of our glorious room. Not too spacious:

Hello! Sorry in advance. I know you were wishing that Brady was blogging, but he's in bed and I think we've heard enough from Brady lately! We are adjusting to life WDD (while Daddy's deployed) and so far it's been better than I expected. I think it helps that we had a little practice while Brian was at survival training. The goodbye was by far the worst part so far. I've been able to talk to him a few times. Their first stop was in Ireland and then they continued their journey to the desert. It was about a 24 hour trip. Talk about jet lag! He has made it though and is all settled in. He will try and update the blog as soon as he can. The internet connection isn't always the greatest, but so far Skype has worked pretty well for us. It's weird to know that he's across the world but I can sit and have a conversation with him in the kitchen! Oh, technology! Brady and I are headed to Minnesota tomorrow to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa and Nana and Papa and all of his girlfriends too so we're pretty excited about that! Brady is cruising around the furniture like crazy, and today he stood on his own for a few seconds. It makes me think that we may not be too far from walking. Scary!! He's getting his top teeth in right now and I'll be glad when they finally come through! He's also chattering a ton and follows me around the house saying "mama, mama, mama" all day. Here are some recent pics of the fam (aka mostly pictures of Brady!)

Brady in his big boy carseat!

He loves sitting forward and putting his feet in the cupholders!

So, Brady has decided lately that he is going to be a little troublemaker. I call it the "troublemaking ten monther"

I was putting laundry away and I knew it was wayy too quiet. This was how I found him and this was his reaction to getting caught!

Hmm, Mom's wallet? Let's dump it out!

Do you see that little troublemaking face?! This is something we do now about 5 times a day. It must be fun.

Ok, well he wasn't really drinking beer. But I thought it would be another good "troublemaker" picture of him!

Working on Brady's 1st Birthday invites!!! (This is for his Papillion party)

Brady in his desert gear the day Daddy left

Daddy with his big guy before he left.

Wait, Dad's gone?! So I can get in trouble again?!

Hmm what's in this cabinet?

Look at that guilty face!

This is the begging for forgiveness face. Or the "I'm hungry, Mom, feed me!" face.

Brady's just started dancing the last few days. Mostly he bops up and down in his highchair when he's eating and music is on, but he got right by the music today and was dancing to the beat! Excuse my loud yelling!

I caught him still dancing after I walked away!
