Hi! Remember Me?!

Holy moly, how has it been so long since I've last blogged?! Life has been busy, busy but wonderful! I cannot believe that it's already November, this year is absolutely flying by.

Here's what we've been up to:

1. Layla started preschool. She absolutely loves it and loves that she's big and has her "own school" now.

I love that she wants to be a mommy! So cute!

2. Brady is loving kindergarten. We just had his fall conferences and he is loving school and doing so well. He's starting to learn to read and it's just crazy how much he's learned in just 2 months!

His all about me poster from school.

3. I attended doTERRA's convention in Salt Lake City and it was AMAZING! I had such a wonderful, life changing experience there. doTERRA is just an amazing company that just cares so deeply for people and it was so neat to hear how the company's leaders love the oils. It was just so inspiring to hear all of the speakers, others personal stories, and spend time with my teammates. I've really made a deep committment to my doTERRA business and it really has paid off in the last 2 months, partly the reason this 'ol blog here has been so neglected!  But really, if you want to try essential oils at all, now is the time to do so! I'd be happy to send you any samples to try because they really are life-changing! :)

4. Enjoying the fall. We have had awesome weather this fall and we spent as much time outside as possible soaking it up before the dreaded winter. Snow. Wahh!

At our favorite spot..Red Rocks hiking!

Enjoying the beautiful aspens in the mountains.

Hiking away!

5. Brian had a bunch of trips this fall for his advanced soaring team. We tagged along on yet another trip, this time to Lamar, Colorado. We went down there for a day/night and not a whole lot to do but the kids still think it's cool to stay in a hotel and see the cadets do their thing. They ended up not flying pretty much at all due to weather but we still made our own fun!

6. Layla started dance. And it is the cutest thing ever. Hands down. I love watching her and she's so dang cute while she's doing it!

7. I turned 30. I cannot believe that it's true, but it is! We celebrated by renting a house in Breckenridge which was amazing. It had a huge fire pit, hot tub, game room, and it was just an awesome time. I am SO thankful for all that flew in to help me celebrate.

We did some beer olympics..my team may or may not have gotten last place. And Brian's team may or may not have gotten first!

Beautiful Breckenridge!

That's just a small sample of what we've been up to! Much more in my next posts! :)

Life Lately

Hello, September! You sure snuck on in!  Life has been busy as always but I just wanted to share some things we've been up to lately. I still have to do a recap of all of the fun things we did this summer but for now, the past couple weeks!

  • Brady is loving kindergarten. Such a relief. We miss him during the mornings but he is excited every single day to go to school and loves learning. He's making friends and is learning so much already. I was nervous about him socially being ready for kindergarten but he is really doing well and that makes this mama very happy! I'm not loving having to leave the house every morning before 8 am but oh well, at least our days are more productive?

This is the view though during our walk. Can't complain!

  • Little sister isn't taking Brady going to school everyday as well though.

Threenager to the max.

We are having fun on our mornings together though. It's the first time it's just been me and her every morning and I just love spending time with this sassy little miss!

  • She's starting preschool next week and she couldn't be more excited. We had her meet the teacher day and she cried because I wasn't leaving her. Girlfriend wants to be big and go to school by herself.
    • We have been making the most of the last few weekends of warm weather by hitting up some water. There's not a ton of water in Colorado but we found some good places near us to soak up the sun and have fun!
We rented some pontoons one Sunday down in Lake Pueblo with people from the squadron..so much fun!!

Such a fun group we have!!

We also hit up Chatfield State Park another Sunday and had some fun in the water!

    • This weekend is Parent's Weekend at the Academy. Brian is landing on the parade field during the parade tomorrow and there will be lots of activities: Squadron open house, tailgates, and a football game!
So that's just a taste of what we've been up to lately! Happy Thursday! :)

    It's Official!

We have a kindergartner!! I seriously cannot believe this day has come already. I feel like it was just 5 years ago and I was anxiously awaiting him to be 3 months old and hopefully not so fussy!  Time seriously flies. We made the most of this summer but it went by wayyy too fast.  I've been in denial a little that he's actually going to big boy school but the day came yesterday. And he was oh so ready and oh so excited!

We had to wake Layla up (she's not our morning child) and she posed for a picture but would not put the waffle down!

Walking towards the big boy school. With so much confidence and excitement. Mama, holding back tears big time!

Brady, so excited. Layla, not so much. She was not happy that she didn't get to come with!

It's hard being the little sister!

My heart hurt a little only because my baby is growing up. But he's ready for school. We've done what we can to prepare him for this day and he was so ready! I definitely wore sunglasses that cloudy morning and inside the school!  They read The Kissing Hand too (thanks a lot!) so I was not alone with shedding tears.  We all gave him a hug goodbye and told him to have a great first day!

He's only in part time kindergarten (Colorado Springs is a little different in their full day kinder is not free but I think they have their whole lives to go to school all day so I'm really happy that it's half day here!) so after 3 quick hours I was walking back to pick him up!

He had an awesome first day! And was excited to go today as well!

Walking home telling his sister all about his day.

We had a special lunch at Panera afterwards.

So proud of my little kindergartner!! Only 23 days till a little miss starts preschool! Not like I'm counting! ;)
