V, X,Y, and A

Shhh mom thinks I'm napping!  I know you were thinking today "hmm I wonder how Brady is? I wonder what's new with Brady?"  Well here I am to tell you.  Besides being ridiculously good looking and a swag ladies man I am incredibly smarter.  I have now perfected writing 4 letters of the English language.  V, X, A, and Y are my specialties. Ok enough of all that here are some pictures from the last week in Brady's world.
Uncle Danny came and colored with me.  It was hard for him because he's color blind. It's sad when a 2 year old needs to tell you what color your crayon is.

I taught Dana all about sand and how to perfectly scoop your sand into your bucket. Luckily she was a fast learner.

Then I took Uncle Danny to the zoo and he told me the right way to pet a goat. He told me that his real major in college is goat studies. He said that one time as a child he pet a goat and he was hooked for life. I said no way am I touching that thing, it'll take me forever to graduate then!

Oh crap.

Uncle Danny, no, don't pet the pig, you don't want student loans!!

Umm guys what are we looking at?

And it was a seal clapping.  Neato.

Seriously I could get my own exhibit at the zoo, it'd be way cooler.

Then we looked at some cheetahs. Cool.

Layla came (it was her first time at the zoo) and of course she had to booze it up.  Here's her by the tiger or lion, one of those things.

They're such scaredy cats, it's ridiculous.  It's just a tiger guys! Try being surrounded by several 2 year olds that want the truck you're playing with, that is much scarier!

This gorilla was awesome.  I hope my body looks like that one day.

Ooh your hair looks fun, can I touch it?!

Daddy and Layla sometimes act too alike that it scares me.

Daddy loves Uncle Danny. They're special.

They even wore matching hats. I wish I had a brother!

Honk, honk!

Look we all fit in my house!

We just love taking baths together.

And mmmm ice cream!

The END!

Life Lately

Happy Thursday! Brady is currently at Parent's Day Out and Layla is sleeping so I have some time to update this blog!  Life has been good lately!  Busy, but good!  Last weekend Uncle Danny and Dana visited and they got to meet Layla for the first time.  We had a great time seeing them and are so glad they were able to visit!  Brian's been busy at work flying and playing softball for his squadron.  Brady has been busy talking up a storm, watching as much monkey show (Curious George) as he can, and going swimming as much as possible!  Layla got through her last growth spurt (whew!) and is now sleeping so much longer at night. Last night she slept from 9 to 6:15!!! It was awesome!!  She is growing up way too fast and is just such a sweet little gal!  Here are some recent pictures:

Her reaction to Uncle Danny! :)

A group of us went to Papio Creek Aquatic Park (there is water there, I swear, it's just behind me taking the picture!)

Brady and I in the picture too

Layla in her new bikini. Daddy was not thrilled about our first bikini, he kept trying to make it a one piece, haha!

Layla SUPER pumped to be going to the zoo for the first time. She really wants to see the giraffes.

You make a funny face, I make a funny face

Layla slept through the giraffes. And really most of the zoo.

She's just not too sure of the huge bow

Bath time!

And then her first bumbo experience.  Again, not too sure!

Morning snuggles with my cuties.  Love them!

Brian and Layla (from the 4th that I forgot to put up!)

Well the princess is now awake begging to eat so I must go!  Till next time! :)

4th of July!

Hope that everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July.  It kind of stunk that it was in the middle of the week because Daddy had to go to work today.  Definitely feels like Monday and not Thursday!  We had a great 4th of July here in Omaha.  Layla said that her first holiday wasn't too shabby either.  Here are some pictures from our 4th of July:
Our 4th actually kind of started on the 3rd.  We went to the base fireworks and Brady got his first taste of staying up late and fireworks. He enjoyed both. Here's Daddy with his babies.

The next morning (way too early after our later night of fireworks) we participated in the nearby city of Ralston's Independence Day Fun Run/Walk.  Their city was turning 100 so it was kind of neat. We went through the hilly neighborhoods and the residents were so cute. A lot of them were outside cheering us on and many had their hoses out to hose us down since it was a crisp 90 degrees at 8 am! One guy even played his bagpipes for us! We mainly walked (that stroller is HEAVY!) but ran a little too.  I think we were one of the first strollers to finish, well at least that's what we tell ourselves! :)

And we're off!

The kids are thrilled. Mainly tired, but thrilled I'm sure!

The last stretch!

We're going so fast!

And Brady is off!

Almost there buddy, almost there!

Cheering Brady on to finish the race

And he did it! Haha!

Whew! That last block he ran was rough!

Time to cool down with some water.  The kids are exhausted.

Popsicle mommy?

This picture makes me laugh with Layla smiling in her sleep

The fastest runner in the race (technically she finished first out of our family).

Of course we had to cool down with the fire fighter!

Then it was home we went to color 4th of July coloring pages.

And eat star shaped sandwiches of course

Stars are the best! Bite mommy?

Then we had to take a little snooze

And Layla had to take some pictures

My little smiley girl!

And Brady played with a can of green beans.

Took about 10 tries and this was the best picture we got.  Oh well at least Brady is looking at the camera!

Then we went to a friends house for a bbq and fireworks. Here's our family on the 4th.

Brady and his friend Judah waving the American flag. Brady's is moving too fast to see.

There we go!

So cute!

A little scared of the fireworks and a little warm but all in all a great 4th! :)
