Completed: Last Mississippi Summer!

Now that it is August 31, I say in confidence that we have completed our second, and hopefully last Mississippi summer!! Now that I have lived in a very cold state and a very hot state, I am definitely ready for an in-between state!! I am looking forward to a nice fall and winter with no humidity! I certainly will never forget this summer and the memories we have made here in Mississippi. Those include: celebrating our first wedding anniversary, Brian's Track Select, traveling home for 4th of July and for my mom's 50th birthday, exploring Memphis, finding out we're pregnant, and spending time with some amazing people that we will never forget! I never thought I would love Mississippi as much as I do, and I truly think it is because the people we have met here. We are blessed with so many great friends here which makes it feel like home for us!
I am feeling pretty good still. Tomorrow will be the start of the 7th week! I have been having a few waves of nausea here and there, but it has been completely manageable thus far! I have stocked up on ginger ale, ginger snaps, saltines, and goldfish! I've still been really tired, taking naps most days, but other than that everything is going well! 2 more weeks until our first doctor visit. Never have I ever been looking forward to a doctor's visit, but this time it's for something wonderful! :) I had been craving white cake from the Mennonite bakery here for about 2 weeks and finally gave in to my craving this weekend. We had some friends over who helped me eat some cake! One of the couples has a 4 month old and Rascal was not happy because he wasn't the center of attention for once! However, he did really well with her and that makes me very hopeful for the future! Here are some recent pictures:

This is from the day I took all of the pregnancy tests, this one is the 3rd (digital)test!

This is me at 6 weeks along! I had to take a first picture to track how big the belly gets!

Rascal's reaction to finding out he's going to be a big brother! :)

First Blog!

This is my very first experience blogging but a friend suggested I start one, so here we go! The last week has been a crazy one in the Ross household! On August 18, I took not one, not two, but three positive pregnancy tests! And a fourth test at the on base lab confirmed it all! Brian and I knew we always wanted children but never expected it to happen this fast. I am almost 6 weeks along, and due on April 21. We are both really excited, but I can't say the same for Rascal. It seems like he's been acting up ever since we found out! :) I think he likes being an only child. Other than our exciting news, Brian has been busy flying his new training plane the T-1. His first checkride should be in the next week so we're crossing our fingers all goes well. I have been busy at work and anticipating my first doctor visit on the 14th of September where we get to see an ultrasound of the baby! I have been feeling pretty well so far, just a little tired, and as Brian would say a lot cranky! No morning sickness yet, I'm crossing my fingers it stays that way. Well Rascal says it's time for his walk and then off to bed!
