Deployment Is....

......answering the same "Where is Daddy and when is he coming home?" questions day after day

...........getting butterflies every time you hear the Skype/Facetime sounds

..............seeing your husband with the creepy 'stache...yet again.
(I swear, he's not that creepy in real life!)

.....................realizing you never ate lunch...or dinner....or both

............marking x's off  and the feeling of accomplishment it gives you..even if it was a horrible day

...............sleeping in an empty bed but getting the remote all to yourself

..................prioritizing events out alone by cost effectiveness of sanity vs. paying the babysitter

.........hearing the sound of a child waking in the middle of the night and there's no one to turn to and say "Your turn!"

........seeing who your true friends are and feeling so blessed by the smallest things friends and family do for you

.............being both Mommy and Daddy

............praying for patience and sanity....a lot

............realizing how amazing and awesome your husband is and how much he does for your family

..............feigning excitement over dinner. "Get excited, we're having chicken nuggets and spaghettios!! Again!"

...............being apart for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries
(Skyping with Daddy at Brady's 1st Birthday Party)

........being the rock for your children to get through each day

......not shaving your legs (winter only) because you can

.......dealing with crappy Internet connection
Lovely

..........having the last few weeks/day just drag on and on and on before they get home. Why is that?

........getting that first date feeling all over again when they step off that plane and come home to you.

So ready to check off deployment #4 but the end still seems so far away!  Have a good weekend!  Feel free to comment on anything I may have missed!

I would say that there are definite benefits to having the remote to yourself! lol I'm so glad he'll be home soon! :)

Hope the rest of the time passes quickly! I always sleep on kev's side of the bed when he is gone, for some reason it feels less lonely. It is weird! He leaves in May and I am dreading it so much!

Bless your heart, my husband is going through pilot training now so we won't experience a deployment in the NEAR future, but I sure am dreading it when the time comes!

I don't know how you ladies do it. You are so strong. You are amazing wives, mothers and are definitely so integral in keeping the family happy and strong.

I feel for you.
