We absolutely love living in Colorado. There are a ton of reasons but one of the main ones is that we get visitors here. We have been so blessed to have so many visitors so far in the almost 4 months we've lived here and have even more on the calendar!
This weekend we had Brian's grandparents come visit us from Tucson. We were so happy that they were able to reschedule their trip to come see us and that everyone was feeling well!
They got in Friday afternoon and the kids were so excited they couldn't sleep. The kids were THRILLED..they brought PRESENTS! Layla got this adorable dollhouse. I'm pretty much in love with it too, I would have loved something like this as a little girl!
And Brady got an electric train set! He's in love and pretty much obsessed with his new trains. He informed us this set needs to go around the Christmas tree too at Christmas time.
Friday night we went to a fun restaurant called Bourbon Brothers. Delicious food and lots and lots of stickers.
Saturday morning bright and early I had a 5k race. It was a good practice race for the 10k we have in 2 weeks (yikes!).
It was a chilly, chilly morning but everyone bundled up to come watch me race which I am so thankful for!
Before the race started, Melissa and I freezing our bums off!
We finished! Our time wasn't half bad, especially since it was a trail run which we were not expecting. And a special thanks to my cheerleaders at the finish line, you sure brought a smile to my face!
The scenery was beautiful and it warmed up so it turned out to be a lovely morning.
After the race I went home and showered with the kids (ok, not with the kids but you know what I mean) while Brian and his grandparents went to the squadron to see where he works and the gliders. After that we went to the stadium for the tailgate before the Air Force/Navy game.
The cutest little Air Force fans!
Ok they're pretty cute too.
Trying to get a good picture without a tantrum and with smiles...near impossible these days
This was the best one!
The tailgate
Brian and his grandpa went to the game while his grandma and I went back home with the kiddos for naptime. It was a great game and ended with an Air Force win!!! Now they just need to beat Army to win the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy.
After naps we enjoyed some play time outside. It was such a beautiful sunny day!
And we enjoyed a nice dinner at home!
Sunday we enjoyed a nice morning at church. We made it through with only a couple of tears. How dare they not give Layla a "cookie" aka the body of Christ during communion. This child, I tell you. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast afterwards and then they headed home to Arizona. We are so thankful they visited and got to spend time with us! Another wonderful weekend in the books!

What an awesome weekend and great job on the race!
Lucky kids - great gifts.
And is Brian's grandma drinking some liquor at dinner? If so, I'm impressed!!
Such special memories!!!
I want a doll house, too! ;)
I'm glad that Brian's grandparents were able to come for a visit. It sounds like you all had a great time! Congrats on your 5k!
