Layla Has Me Worried

It stinks that I always have to be the bad guy, but come on guys.  Layla has me worried because...
I don't think she realizes she's only 2 months old.  Hey Layla, quit trying to dress like a teenager!

I don't think she realizes that 2 month olds don't draw.

I don't think she realizes that 2 month olds don't work in Vegas.

I mean, I know she thinks she looks good but as her older brother I feel like it's my duty to give her a dose of the real world.  Layla, boys don't like "super showy" girls.

She has me worried because of the kind of noises and smells come out of her bottom.

Oooh in other news, Build a Bear!

She also has me worried because she thinks she knows how to swim.  Layla, please.

I'm worried that she will be a clone of my mother. We only need 1 mommy in this world, that's for sure!

I'm worried because her aim isn't very good

Not that she would care

Ooh wave pool!

And lazy river!

Fun times!

Oh sorry, I got a little carried away there.  I'm also worried because her and mom are such a bore at water parks.

What am I going to do with you Layla?

I guess all I can do is stay my pretty Brady self.

THE END

Fishing and Dinosaurs, Oh My!

So one day Daddy was like, "Hey Brady, let's go fishing."  So I said ok.

Oh hell no, are you kidding me? This is how you fish?

Dad told me that it gets even better so I said ok.

"Ok now you just reel it in Brady"

"And then you wait."  And we waited.

And waited some more.

And all we caught was this stupid seaweed. Dad thought it was awesome.

So then Layla and I talked about how stupid fishing is and how we should just go get ice cream or steal cars or something.

And then he caught a real fish.

"Look guys, a real big fish!"  Lame, dad.  Fishing is lame.

And then I said to myself, "Self, let's go catch us some dinosaurs."

And then we did.

They were much larger than I was expecting

And then I realized they weren't real.

I'm pretty sure Dad still thought they were.

I didn't want to break it to him..

But real fish are disgusting and fake dinosaurs are lame.  Moral of the story: don't let your parents plan activities.

The End

Stacy Here!

Last weekend we had a special visitor, Stacy!  Stacy and I have been friends since junior high where we played tennis together.  We were in each other's weddings and even though we hardly get to see each other anymore (she lives in Grand Forks now) we can still get together and chat like old times!  We had a great weekend while she was here for a Pampered Chef convention and tried to squeeze in as many activities as we could despite needy kiddos and hot, hot weather!  Stacy was so good with Brady and Layla.  I love seeing my friends loving on my kids, it warms my heart! Brady had so much fun playing with her and is still asking Stacy, Stacy where are you?! Here are some pictures from our weekend:

Lucky her, she got to play in the sandbox in her nice clothes!

Brian making us laugh like usual

We went to Soaring Wings Vineyard on a hot day and Brady was not impressed.

Stacy and Brian testing out some of their beer and wines

Brady was not impressed

And neither was Layla!

Swimming!

Thanks for visiting Stacy, come back soon! :)

Layla 2 Months Old!

I cannot believe that my little girl is 2 months old already(well more like 2.5 months now)!  Time is seriously flying by this second time around!  She is still such a sweet and calm little girl.  At her 2 month appointment she was 22.75 inches (66%) and weighed 11 lbs 4 oz (62%) so she is a growing girl!  Her doctor was impressed at her strength and head control and said she acts a lot like a 4 month old (oh so advanced!).  She is a good eater still and eats as often as she can! She decided recently that she doesn't want to eat out of a bottle so that's made things a little tricky but as long as the pumped milk is as warm as mommy she'll take it (reluctantly). She isn't really sleeping any better yet.  We got on a streak of about 9 hours straight right before 2 months which was great but now she averages sleeping in about 5-6 hour stretches.  She's losing a lot of her hair and it's starting to grow back in lighter.  Her eyes are still a beautiful blue color and I can't help but hope they stay that way. She loves to be talked to and played with and I think that before we know it she will be rolling over!  Here are some recent pictures of Miss Layla:
Looking more and more like her daddy!

Sweet little smiles

Love my girl!
