Layla 8 Months!

Layla is 8 months already and it makes me sad! She will be 1, walking and talking before I know it.  Layla is still the sweetest little thing.  She loves to eat, talk, smile, and play with her toys and her brother (when he lets her).  I thought that Layla would be my dainty little girl but man, that little lady can put away some food. She'll eat a whole jar of baby food (fruit is by far her favorite), eat handfuls of snacks, and then want to nurse as well!  She's growing out of her clothing fast.  We last weighed her at home at about 18 pounds but we'll see for sure at her 9 month checkup in a couple of weeks.  Layla's favorite word by far is "dada" but "mama" has finally come into her vocabulary although it is rarely used. She greets Brian with dada and whenever I try to get her to say mama she responds with a smile "DADA!".  I think she's close to crawling but most days she'll still content to sit and have a pile of toys around her.  She still enjoys jumping and just being near her brother so she can watch him.  Here are some pictures of my sweet little lady:
Getting fancy with our posing! :)

Wait, you mean to tell me I'm 8 months old already?

Likes to pull her headbands off now :(

Got at least 1 more picture in!

Aaaand it's off

B as in Brady

Gooosh it's been a long time since I've been on here! Yikes! Mommy said that whole thing about blogger not working, ha that's code for "Mommy be lazy like, not want to blog".  Sheesh.  Well I have a lot to catch you up on.  I have been INCREDIBLY busy lately, seriously. Well here it goes:
We went to Disney World and my parents were good and responsible.

Christmas happened. "Yo Layla I specifically said do NOT wear your reindeer shirt today." Women never listen!

And then Layla had the guts to complain about the present I bought her. "I said the pink one, not the purple one." Ugh.

Luckily I had the eye on the prize and was the Christmas master.

Layla always gets those cool monthly pictures taken of her. I decided it was my turn. Here is my 32 month photo shoot. This one is going on the wall for sure.

Layla got mad, something about stealing her thunder (thighs, probably!) and stuck her pacifier where the sun don't shine

We're going to need a doctor. Stat!

Trains only work right if you stare right into their eyes

Ok Papa, here it comes. Stare like this.

If you had any idea what was on the other side of that tree you would not let me on it.

Then New Years happened. Layla and her boyfriend started fighting (per usual).

"He said my pants were too tight and my diaper was looking a little heavy." Wahh.

Seriously the bachelor life is just the way to go. Girls are sooo dramatic!

I have also started working on a photography business. I got a lot of compliments on my past pictures. This one is called "Wide eyed self portrait".

This one is called "The TV is on but I am too cool to look at it."

This one is called "Milk Cup, It Sitteth on the Couch"

This one is called "Chubby Thighs in a Swimsuit"  Ok I have to admit even my photography skills can make her look good.

Teddy even let me do some portraits of him.  Mrs. Teddy is going to love this one!

Then we went to a career fair to see what I would like to major in for preschool.

I walked in and saw this. "Oh crap she multiplied!" Even she couldn't believe it.

First we went to try out the news desk. If Aunt Cat likes doing this so much it must be fun!

Mommy and Layla were horrible. Seriously horrible. Who would want to watch a baby in a stroller?

Daddy and I rocked it out.  We'll say maybe on this one.

I tried out the construction business. That's also a maybe. I make the uniform look good at least.

Tried the whole firefighter route. That's a no.

Tried driving a bus. Too many weirdos.

Then they had me try the ambulance worker route. "Oh boy, dead babies everywhere!" That's not a no, that's a hell no!

And then the pilot route.  Ehh that's a maybe as well (chicks dig it, obviously).

So as you can see I have been very busy and probably will stay that way in the future.  God Bless!

Life Lately

Whew that was quite the blog overload!  I had a lot to catch up on!  Can't believe 2013 is here and we're over halfway through January already! We've only had 1 good snowfall so far so Brady is anxiously awaiting some more snow.  He's big into sledding this winter so hopefully we'll get some more!  We're working on getting Brady potty trained.  It's been a sloow and frustrating process but we're trying to take his lead and keep it a positive experience.  We've got him going "pee pee on the potty" a couple of times a day but it's nothing consistent yet.  Hopefully it'll come in the next couple of months before he hits 3!

Layla is growing up! She loves sitting and playing with her toys, exercising in her jumper, eating lots and lots of food, and watching her brother run around.  She's still not crawling yet although I don't think she's too far from it. She's had a rough month of sleeping since she got her first teeth and her first real cold but she slept through the night last night!  I hope that's the new norm!

Brian started his aircraft commander upgrade program this past Friday.  He's been home a lot lately and we've loved that!  He's busy working on his masters, bottling his new beer he made, and playing with the kiddos!

I'm just busy taking care of the kids. I can't believe how fast Layla is growing up.  I'm still nursing but she's starting to prefer solid foods more to mommy now which is ok with me.  I've exceeded my nursing goal by quite a few months and if I can be all done with it in a couple months, that'd be great! I'm ready to have my body back and maybe take a break that's longer than a couple of hours! :) Here are some recent pictures of the last week or so:
Just hanging out after destroying the living room :)

Tickets to Sesame Street Live! We figured if we can do disney, we can do a sesame street show!

Brady was all ready and excited for "Elmo dancing and singing"

Layla was excited too! We went with our friends the Rohrbacher's.

Elmo and Big Bird!

Layla also got a new swimsuit (this one fits) and she was pretty excited about it.

Fun times at the Y! :)

New Year's

We were so happy to have Nana and Papa come celebrate the New Year with us. We had a fun weekend!!  We ate yummy food, went sledding, made beer, played lots, and Brian and I even got a date night in! Here are the pictures from New Year's:
We went to the Lauritzen Gardens to see their poinsettia show.  They also had trains there and Brady was seriously in love. He watched that train go by at least 30 times!

The beautiful poinsettia tree

Brady riding on the toy train around a tree

He had fun

There were other kids on there, I swear!

Checking out more of the trains

Getting a Brady's eye view

Then we climbed up the stairs to go see real trains that are on display outside.  When you cross into Nebraska you can see the trains and the "Welcome to Omaha" sign.

It was windy..

but the trains were cool!

He was telling me which kind of trains were which, I was impressed!

Decked out in their Vikings gear getting ready for the Vikings game!

Go Vikings!!
Her outfit and her cheering worked for this game....not so much for the next game.

We went to our friend Alma and Aaron's house for New Year's and we had a great time.  Here's Brady playing with his friend Luke.

Yay for 2013!

They just love to take sibling pictures

Brian dressed himself again

Some of the kids...all so happy about New Year's!
