Layla 3 Months!

So, like usual, I'm updating the blog on her half month birthday (pretty sure that's not a real thing). So even though she's 3.5 months today, here's her monthly update!  Layla is 3 months already! Makes me so, so sad!  Her life is just flying by already and it breaks my heart! Stop growing up so fast!! Her nicknames are Layla Bean, L Bean, and Missy Moo (all given to her by her mama!).  She is such a little doll and really only cries when she's hungry or if she has gas (which she has a lot of, sorry Layla!).  She wakes up happy and is just generally happy most of the day! She LOVES attention and as long as you're talking to her she's pretty content.  She is sleeping through the night 9-7 which has been a godsend, makes my life as a single mama right now SO much easier! Layla is so close to rolling over and although she hates tummy time still will be a rolling baby soon.  She talks and coos all the time and giggles like crazy when mommy tickles her! I got her 3 month pictures taken by a fellow military spouse and can't wait to get them back.  She was so smiley and happy in them! Here are some pictures I took the past day of Miss L Bean:

Sibling Love

The day that I found out I was pregnant with Layla I was terrified for what it would mean for Brady. He'd only known life as an only child, having all of mom and dad's attention. He would cry bloody murder every time I would hold another child so my initial reaction was to worry about what life would be like once Layla got here.  What actually happened was a complete 180 from my fears.  Brady has been nothing but a wonderful big brother to Layla.  He has been nothing but sweet and loving towards her which I never expected!  He's never acted out towards her or anything!  Most of the time he kind of ignores the fact that she's here but more and more he interacts with her and occasionally asks to hold her! I never knew how warm it would make my heart to see them together.  Layla just absolutely adores her older brother and her head is almost always turned to wherever he is!  Here are some pictures and a video of my kiddos with each other:

Sweet brother talking to his baby sister.  Layla is going crazy! :)

After bathtime for both kiddos, Brady decided we should read Layla a story

Really getting into it with Layla

See the pictures Layla?

Then he got down and talked to her which she LOVES!

So sweet!

She just adores her brother!

Love seeing my kiddos interact!

Another day Brady said, "Mama, hold Layla?" Which is code for Mom I want to hold her!  Then as soon as he was holding her he said, "Picture?".

He was telling her all about Curious George

So sweet!

Brady down talking to her again. It's so cute to see him imitate how we interact with her! Such a good big brother!

Although isn't easy being a single mama right now to two little ones, seeing the act of love between the two warms my heart and makes each day a little easier to bear!  I just love those two more than anything!

Minnesota!

Last Friday we said goodbye to Brian for two months and later that day Grandpa came and helped us drive up to Minnesota.  It was Layla's first time in Minnesota and her first long car ride.  Both kiddos really did great in the car and Brady couldn't have been more excited to see all of his grandparents and family!  Brady's sleep schedule got pretty off and he was kind of a crab but we had a great time in Minnesota!  The week really flew by and we're missing everyone a lot!  Here are some pictures from our trip to Minnesota:  *Warning, there are a lot of pictures!*
Eating dinner with Brian before he deployed.  Saying goodbye is no fun :(
